Directions

Directions to Gamblesby Community Hall from the M6

o Leave the M6 at Junction 40 and follow the signs for the A66 Brough going East

o At the second roundabout take the A686 signposted Alston

o Follow the A686 for about eight and a half miles to the village of Melmerby. (The A686 crosses the river Eden at Langwathby via a traffic light controlled steel bridge built as a temporary structure in 1968!)

o Go through Melmerby (about half a mile) and as the A686 bears right at the end of the village go straight on into a narrow road, which is signposted to Gamblesby

o Follow the narrow road carefully (there may be tractors about) for about one and a half miles and you come into the village through a historically narrow section of the road

o Carry on through the village (about half a mile) and the Community Centre (which used to be the village school) is the last building on the right. Watch for the Wind Turbine! The car park entrance is just before the Centre.

 

Directions to Gamblesby Village Hall from the A66 coming from the East

o Turn off the new section of the A66 onto the old section, about 4/5 miles from the Penrith roundabout, following the signs for Culgaith – the B6412.

o At Culgaith turn right off the B6412 and follow the signs to Skirwith and then to Melmerby

o At Melmerby you join the A686 Penrith to Alston Road. Turn right (Alston direction) onto the A686 and then almost immediately the main road bears right but you go straight on into a narrow road, which is signposted to Gamblesby

o Follow the narrow road carefully (there may be tractors about) for about one and a half miles and you come into the village through a historically narrow section of road

o Carry on through the village (about half a mile) and the Community Centre (which used to be the village school) is the last building on the right. Watch for the Wind Turbine! The car park entrance is just before the Centre.

Access

There is ample parking on site and the venue is disability friendly.

Facilities

A light supper will be served at 7:00 and the film will start at 8:00 where there will be a licensed bar.

Adults: Film plus supper £10.00, Film only £5.00. Under sixteen’s half price.
